Pune to Mumbai Taxi

For the Pune to Mumbai road trip, there are two common routes which you can take. When travelling with Pune Drive, we will inform you about the route in detail and choose the best one for the journey. 

The shortest Pune-Mumbai route is via Mumbai-Pune Expressway. This route is around 150 km long and requires about 3 hours and 10 minutes of driving. On this route, you will travel via Hinjewadi, Urse, Devghar, Lonavala, Khandala, Rasayani, Panvel and then reach Mumbai. The traffic is usually less on this route. 

Another route to reach Mumbai from Pune is via NH 48/Old Pune-Mumbai Highway. It is about 163 long and takes about 4 hours and 30 minutes of driving. This route goes via Pimpri, Chinchwad Panvel, Kamshet, Lonavala, Khopoli, Khalapur and Panvel.

Elephanta caves

Natural rock-cut caves, Elephanta caves are recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These are a group of seven caves, two associated with Buddhism and five with Hinduism. Showcasing the architectural excellence of mediaeval India, these are built over an area of 1.37 acres. 

Gateway of India

Offering a captivating view of the Arabian Sea, it is an ideal place to just sit and admire the sea or take a ferry to the Elephanta Caves. Showcasing Indo Saracenic style, it was built in the honour of King George V and Queen Mary on their visit to Mumbai. 

Marine Drive

Can you visit Mumbai and not spend time at Marine Drive? It is a  3.6 km long, arc-shaped boulevard which starts at the edge point of Nariman Point and ends at the  Chowpatty Beach (Girgaum Chowpatty). Visit here for a captivating sunset or just to have a walk by the Arabian Sea, especially at night. 

Colaba Causeway

Initially built in 1838, as a land link between Colaba and the Old Woman’s Island, it is one of the best places to visit for shopping as well as to experience the real Mumbai. From street shops to designer showrooms, you can see everything here. Here you can also visit the famous Cafe Leopold. 

Siddhivinayak Temple

One of the most visited shrines of Mumbai, Siddhivinayak Temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Built in 1801 by Laxman Vithu and Deubai Patil, the temple has a 2 and half feet black stone idol of Lord Ganesha. It is also considered to be the richest temple of Mumbai. 

There are many more tourist attractions in Mumbai. Some of these are Worli Sea Link, Film CIty Mumbai, Juhu Beach, Hanging Gardens, Prince of Wales Museum, Mumbai Zoo, National Gallery of Modern Art, Girgaum Chowpatty, Mahakali Caves,Global Vipassana Pagoda, Haji Ali Dargah, etc.

The best time for a Pune to Mumbai road trip is during the winter season. From October to February, the climate in Mumbai remains moderate, making it ideal for spending time at the beach, or exploring caves and visiting other sightseeing locations. Summers are usually hot and humid and in monsoon, Mumbai receives heavy rainfall so it is best to avoid road trips from June to September.
